The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released a recruitment notification for various Civil Judge Posts in the HPPSC State. The HPPSC Judiciary Notification has been released on 14th December 2024 on the official website of Himachal Pradesh PSC. The HPPSC will fill a total no. of 21 posts of Civil Judge Cadre, Class I. The Himachal Pradesh PSC Civil Judge Vacancy Online Form will start from 14th December 2024 and will be ended on 5th January 2025. Himachal Pradesh Judiciary Exam Pattern 2024
The Himachal Pradesh PSC conducts the HPPSC Judiciary Exam in three stages. These are mentioned below-
- Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)
- Mains Exam (Subjective Type) and
- Personal Interview
The Himachal Pradesh Judiciary Prelims Exam is only qualifying in nature. The scores obtained at this stage are not added to the final merit list. Candidates are considered for the subsequent stage only if their preliminary scores are higher than the minimum required scores. These scores are different for each category of candidate. The scores obtained in the main exam and interview stage are added to the final merit list, thus deciding the rank of a candidate. Himachal Pradesh PSC Judiciary Prelims Exam Pattern 2024
All the details regarding HPPSC J Prelims Exam have been mentioned below –
- The mode of preliminary exam will be offline mode (OMR Based).
- There will be three papers i.e. Civil Law-I, Civil Law-II and Criminal Law.
- Each paper will carry a total no. of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Each paper shall be of one hour.
- The examination in all the three papers shall be held on the same day.
- No negative marking will be there.
- Each paper shall consist of 50 questions with two marks for each question.
- Each correct answer will fetch you two marks.
- The syllabus for the preliminary exam shall be the same as provided for Papers I to III for the Main Exam.
Cutoff scores for HPPSC CJ Exam
No candidate would be considered to have qualified the main exam unless he obtains 45% marks in aggregate in all papers and at least 33% marks in language paper i.e. Hindi in Devanagri Script.
No candidate shall be credited with any marks in any paper in Main Exam unless he obtains 40% marks in that paper, except Hindi language paper (Paper-V) in which candidates should obtain at least 33% marks.
Himachal Pradesh PSC Judiciary Mains Exam Pattern 2024

- The mains exam will be a subjective type of exam.
- This stage will contain five mandatory papers.
- Main written exam shall be held tentatively from the last week of March 2025.
- The date sheet will be displayed on the website of the commission.

HPPSC Judiciary Viva-voce 2024
Relatively more meritorious candidates from among those who appeared in the Mains Examination in the ration of having regard to the number of vacancies shall be called for viva-voce to be conducted. The viva-voce will be of 150 marks. The final merit list will be prepared by adding the marks obtained by a candidate in the mains exam and viva-voce.
For each vacancy three candidates shall be called for viva-voce strictly in order of merit obtained in the written examination. The candidate shall have to secure minimum 45% marks in the interview.
Preparation Strategy for Himachal Pradesh PSC J 2024
The candidates should have made a proper schedule and planned strategy. Before going to start the preparation, the candidate should check out the HP PSC Judiciary Syllabus 2024 in detailed.
