About Himachal Pradesh Civil Judge Exam

We are back with a new vacancy. Online applications are invited till 11:59 PM of 05th January 2025 for the interested candidates for appointment to 21 vacant posts of Grade – I of Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services. The Himachal Pradesh Judiciary Exam, also known as the HP Civil Judge, Junior Division (Junior Level), is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC). This exam is designed to recruit Civil Judges for the state’s judicial services. The HPPSC issued the official notification on 14th December 2024.

The examination process will be completed in three stages i.e. Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and Viva-Voce. The desirous candidates may apply online through official website of the commission and submit the printout of online application from along with required documents to the Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Shimla-02 either by hand or by post. Applications received through any other mode will not be accepted and will be rejected straightway. Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services Exam Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must follow the following eligibilities in order to appear for Himachal Pradesh Judicial Services Exam –

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India as defined in Article 5 and 6 of the Indian Constitution.
  • Must be holder of Degree in Law from a recognized University by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

As per the latest official notification, the Himachal Pradesh Civil Judge salary is as per scale pay of Rs. 77,840 to Rs. 1,36,520/- p.m. On the top of their monthly salary, they are entitled to additional perks and benefits like House Rent Allowance, Travel Allowance, Medical Allowance, Electricity Bill, Phone Bill, Water Bill, Vehicle Maintenance, Pension and Gratuity, Leave and Holidays etc.

HPPSC Civil Judge Selection Process

There are three stages to Himachal Pradesh Civil Judge Exam. The HPPSC Civil Judge Prelims Exam is the first stage that will be only screening test. The marks obtained in the preliminary exam shall not be considered in further stages. Those who have passed the Himachal Pradesh J preliminary exam are invited to take the main exam. Candidates are then invited to the interview if they pass the Himachal Pradesh Civil Judge Mains exam.
