About UP PCS (J) 2024 EXAM
The UP PCS (J) 2024 Exam, commonly known as the UP Judiciary Exam or the UPPSC Civil Judge Exam, is a government hiring examination that UPPSC conducts to find qualified individuals for the position of Civil Judge. The exam is administered in 3 stages, commencing with the preliminary exam and moving on to the main exam and interview. The candidates will be chosen based on their combined scores from the Main (written) Exam and the Interview.

Note: The reservation for SC, ST, OBC and EWS of UP shall be admissible in accordance with the provisions of relevant Government Rules. Accordingly, reservation for category under horizontal as dependents of Freedom Fighters of UP, Ex-Servicemen of UP, Pwds of UP and women candidates shall be admissible on settlements of vacancies. Reservation for Pwds of UP shall be permissible on the basis of vacancies identified by Govt.
Remuneration of UP Civil Judge
As per the latest official notification, the UP Civil Judge salary is as per scale pay: Rs. 9000-14550 (Revised Pay Scale Rs. 27700-770-35090-920-40450-1080-44770)
Apart from the Uttar Pradesh Judiciary Salary, civil judges are entitled to a number of other benefits and allowances, which are listed below. House Rent Allowance, Travel Allowance, Electricity Bill, Phone Bill, Water Bill, Vehicle Maintenance, etc.
Eligibility for UP PCS J Exam

UPPSC Judiciary Eligibility: Educational Qualification
As per the latest notification of UP Judicial Service Civil Judge, the aspirant should consider the below eligibility criteria,
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor of Laws degree from a university established by law in Uttar Pradesh or from any other Indian university recognized by the Governor for this purpose. OR
- Must be an Advocate enrolled under the Advocate Act 1961, a Barrister of England or Northern Ireland, or a Member Faculty of Advocates in Scotland, with the right to practice in the Court or Courts subordinate to it.
- Must possess a thorough Knowledge of Hindi in Devnagri Script.
UPPSC Civil Judge Age Limit
The general UP PCS J age range is 22 to 35 years old. However, there is a provision for age relaxation for a number of categories, as listed below.

UP Judiciary Application Form 2024
UPPSC Judiciary online application form 2024 will be available on the official website after the release of the notification. Check the eligibility details before applying online. The application form will only be accepted online and no offline form will be accepted.
The aspirant may be advised to consider the below instruction before applying for the UP Judicial Service Civil Judge (Junior Division) post.
- Character: The Character of a candidate for recruitment to the service must be such as to render him suitable in opinion of the Governor in all respects for employment in the service. Persons dismissed from the service by the Union Government or a State Govt. or debarred from practice as an Advocate by the Bar Council of India or a State or convicted and sentenced for imprisonment on any offence under the Indian Penal Code or any other Law for the time being in force involving moral turpitude shall not be eligible for appointment to the Service.
- Marital Status: A Male candidate who has more than one wife living or a female candidate who has married a man already having a wife living shall not be eligible for appointment to a post in the Service.
- Physical Fitness: No Candidate shall be appointed to a post in the service unless he/she be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect.
- Certificate: The candidate will have to attach his/her High School or Equivalent Examination Certificate with the application form of Main Examination. No other Certificate shall be acceptable for Date of Birth and if it is not attached with the application form, it shall be rejected.
- Date, time and venue etc. of examination along with Roll No. will be communicated to the candidates through e-Admit Cards. Candidates will have to appear at the centre/venue allotted to them by the Commission. No change in centre/venue is permissible and no application shall be entertained in this regard.
- While filling the answer sheets, the candidates must use Black Ball Point Pen Only. Use of any other pen or pencil is strictly prohibited.
- At the time of examination, candidates are supposed to fill up all the entries and information required on OMR answer sheet and attendance sheet correctly. In the event of leaving them blank or filling them incorrectly, their OMR answer sheet may not be evaluated by the commission for which the candidates themselves will be responsible.
- The informations filled in the Answer sheets must not be erased by whitener, blade or rubber etc.

To apply for the UP Judicial Service Exam online, you typically need to follow these steps:
- Check Eligibility: Before applying, ensure that you meet all the eligibility criteria specified in the official notification issued by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC).

- New Registration: If you are a new user, you will need to register by providing basic details such as your name, email address, mobile number, etc. You will also need to choose a username and password for login purposes.
- Login: After successful registration, login to the website using your username and password.
- Fill Application Form: Once logged in, find the link to fill out the application form for the UP PCS (J) 2024 Exam. Provide all the required details accurately, including personal information, educational qualifications, contact details, etc.
- Upload Documents: You are required to upload scanned copies of certain your photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable), etc. Make sure these documents are scanned as per the specifications mentioned in the application form.
- Application Fee Payment: Pay the application fee online using the available payment methods (credit/debit card, net banking, etc.).
- Review and Submit: Before final submission, review all the details filled in the application form carefully to avoid any errors. Once you are satisfied that all information provided is correct, submit the application form.
- Print Confirmation: After successful submission, you will receive a confirmation page or application form. Note: The Basic Registration of such candidates will not be accepted who have been debarred from U.P. Public Service Commission and their period of debarment has not been completed.
UPPSC Civil Judge Selection Process
The UPPSC PCS exam and UP PCS (J) 2024 EXAM selection procedure are more or less similar. There are three stages to it. The UP Civil Judge Prelims Exam is the first stage. Those who pass the UPPSC J preliminary exam are invited to take the main exam. Candidates are then invited to the interview if they pass the UP PCS J Mains exam.
The official notice states that applicants will be declared successful for the main examination in a ratio of 1:10 and for the interview in a ratio of 1:3. The marks from the main exam and interview are taken into consideration for the final merit list.
