The Directorate of Prosecution Office has proposed an amended syllabus for UP APO Exam to the authorities. Many new laws including minor and major have been proposed in the proposal. Once the proposal is accepted the new amended syllabus will be applicable for all the candidates who are planning to appear in the upcoming UP APO Exam 2025. Here we are to provide this information to all those candidates who are planning to appear in this years’ Uttar Pradesh APO Exam.
The UP APO Vacancy Notification has yet to be announced. But the Directorate of Prosecution Officer has given an insight through this recent notification that the UP APO Recruitment notification is also expected to be released in the month of September of October. Here we have mentioned the complete and updated UP APO Exam Syllabus below.
UP APO Exam Pattern 2026
UPPSC APO Exam will be held in three stages. These are mentioned below –
- Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)
- Mains Exam (Subjective Type) and
- Personal Interview
The Uttar Pradesh APO Prelims Exam is only qualifying in nature. The scores obtained at this stage are not added in the final merit list. Candidates are considered for the subsequent stage only if their preliminary scores are higher than the minimum required scores. These scores are different for each category of candidate. Preliminary Examination (Time-2 Hours, Marks-150) [Negative Mark- 0.33]
General Knowledge (Part-I) [Mark – 50]
It will include day to day happenings around India and the World with special reference to-

UP APO Interview & Personality Test 2026 50 Marks
- The suitability of the candidates shall be assessed with reference to his capacity, Character, Personality, and Physical fitness.
- The Marks obtained in written test will be added to the obtained in Personality Test to consider the place of the candidate.
Preparation Strategy for UP APO 2026
The candidates should have made a proper schedule and planned strategy. As the official has not yet announced the vacancy notification, that’s why a candidate has enough time to prepare. For the prelims exam the candidate must solve the maximum number of PYQs of all the state judiciary exams. Also, the candidate should join a mock test series. Since the prelims is a game of MCQs solving technique. Thus, the more MCQs a candidate solves the more chances to get through the prelims he will attain. For the mains exam the candidate should have a thorough understanding and command on the bare acts of each act mentioned in the syllabus. Along with this the candidate must solve the previous year question papers of all the state judiciary exams for the practice purpose. For the General Knowledge section, the candidate must focus on the latest news related to Uttar Pradesh State and the Nation. Also try to read at least one article of the newspaper.
