The Gujarat CJ Judiciary Notification has been released on 31 January 2025 on the official website of Gujarat HC. The HC will fill a total no. of 212 posts of Civil Judge Cadre. Gujarat Judiciary Exam Pattern 2025
The Gujarat HC conducts the Gujarat Judiciary Exam in three stages. These are mentioned below –
- Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)
- Mains Exam (Subjective Type) and
- Personal Interview
The Gujarat Judiciary Prelims Exam is only qualifying in nature. The scores obtained at this stage are not added in the final merit list. Candidates are considered for the subsequent stage only if their preliminary scores are higher than the minimum required scores. These scores are different for each category of candidate. Gujarat HC Judiciary Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
All the details regarding Gujarat J Prelims Exam have been mentioned below –
- The mode of preliminary exam will be offline mode (OMR Based).
- There will be two papers i.e. paper – I and Paper – II.
- The paper will be of 100 marks.
- There will be 100 no. of questions.
- The paper will be of 2 hours.
- A negative marking of 0.33 marks will also be there.
- Each correct answer will fetch you one mark.
- The language of the question paper will be in English only.
- Paper – 2 will be of Gujarati Language and will be of 50 marks.
- The time duration for paper 2 will be 90 minutes.

Cutoff scores for Gujarat CJ Exam
No candidate would be considered to have qualified the prelims exam unless he obtains 50% marks in aggregate. For reserved categories this would be 45%. The candidates must have also passed their secondary or higher secondary examination with subject of Gujarati.
OR
A candidate has to secure 50% or more marks for unreserved category and 45% marks for reserved category in the preliminary exam and 40% marks in the test of the Gujarati Language, in case they have not passed their secondary or higher secondary examination with subject of Gujarati.
Gujarat HC Judiciary Mains Exam Pattern 2025

- The mains exam will be a subjective type of exam.
- This stage will contain two mandatory papers.
- Each paper will be of 3 hours.
- Main written exam shall be held tentatively on 15 June 2025, the date sheet will be displayed on the website of the commission.

Language | Language of question paper-I & II of Main Written Examination shall be English. Answer to questions of Paper I & II of Main Written Examination may be given either in English or in Gujarati, if not instructed otherwise. |
The candidates belonging to reserved categorised must secure minimum 45% mars and all other candidates must secure minimum 50% marks in the Main Written Examination for being eligible to be called for Viva-voce test. Provided that the candidate has secure minimum 40% marks in each paper.
Gujarat Judiciary Viva-voce 2025
Relatively more meritorious candidates from among those who appeared in the Mains Examination in the ration of having regard to the number of vacancies shall be called for viva-voce to be conducted. The viva-voce will be of 50 marks. The final merit list will be prepared by adding the marks obtained by a candidate in the mains exam and viva-voce.
For each vacancy three candidates shall be called for viva-voce strictly in order of merit obtained in the written examination. The candidate shall have to secure minimum 40% marks in the interview.
