CLAT 2025 Exam – About
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduates (UG) and postgraduates (PG) law programs offered by 24 National Law Universities in India. CLAT is organized by the consortium of National Law Universities, comprising representative universities. As we all know that CLAT Notification 2025 has been issued by the Consortium of NLUs.
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), is an all-India entrance examination, conducted on rotation by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to their Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate degree programmes. The 24 participating NLUs in the order of their year of establishment are:

The official notification for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 is out now. Online registration for CLAT 2025 will start from 15 July 2024. The Examination for CLAT 2025 is scheduled on 1 December, 2024. Last year the CLAT 2024 Examination was held on 3rd December 2023 for both the CLAT UG and PG.
The aim of the CLAT Undergraduate Program is to assess student’s eligibility and suitability on subjects like General English, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Quantitative Techniques, Legal Reasoning. CLAT 2025- Eligibility
Criteria for Undergraduate Program
A student must fulfill all the required eligibility criteria related to Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) UG before applying for the same. All the necessary credentials have been mentioned below –
Education Qualification –
- A student must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 45% marks if he/ she belongs to General/ OBC/ PWD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI categories.
- If a student belongs to SC/ ST category then he/ she has to secure at least 40% marks.
- Appearing students for the 10+2 examination in the academic year (March/April 2025) are also eligible to apply for the CLAT 2025.
Age Limit –
- There is no upper age limit is prescribed for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) UG Program.
Criteria for Postgraduate Program
- A student must possess their LLB Degree with at least 50% marks if he/ she belongs to General/ OBC/ PWD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI categories.
- If a student belongs to SC/ ST category then he/ she has to secure at least 45% marks.
- LLB Appearing students in April/May 2025 are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit –
- There is no upper age limit is prescribed for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) PG Program.

Documents Required for CLAT 2025 Online Application Form
A candidate may require following documents while applying for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) –
- 10+2 Marksheet (If applying for CLAT UG Courses)
- LLB Marksheet (If applying for CLAT PG Courses)
- Latest Passport size photograph
- Valid Identity Proof i.e. Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter ID Card etc.
- Signature
- Personal E-mail Id
- Personal Mobile Number etc.
The dimensions of the photograph and signature will be as follows –
- Photograph – 500 KB in .jpg/ jpeg format
- Signature – 100 KB in .jpg/ jpeg format
How to apply for CLAT 2025
Interested candidates can apply for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) before the last date by following some simple steps mentioned below –
- Visit the official website of NLU i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in
- On the home page, click on the link named “Register”.
- Now start filling all the required details starting with your mobile number, name and password.
- Now, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
- Log into with the same registered mobile number and password.
- Now, carefully enter all the details required.
- Re-check your form before submitting.
- Now make the payment through the online mode.
- Take a print out of the application form
